Page: E77 Reg 4114
Title: RLDS Archives
Source Comments: Deceased Member Files for WEED name. Born 27 Sep 1849 place not
named, Baptised 9 July 1893 at Bandera Co., Texas by A B Moore.
Ordained a Deacon 17 Mar 1894 by O D Johnson. Died 27 Sept
1931(reported Oct 1940).
Repository Name: RLDS Archives World Headquarters
Address: Box 1059 (1001 West Walnut)
Independence, Mo 64051

Information from Bandera Co Pioneer History Book. Bobby in his records states he drove a peddlers wagon to supply settlers in Texas, and was a wild bronc rider and trainer of horses and mules.
, and was of French descent.
Information from Bob P Weed, Fort Worth, Texas. Solomon lived with
his daughter Melvina Weed Reavis and her family on Little Creek from
about 1905 until his death in July 1930. Solomon's wife stayed with
their youngest son
Amos until her death in January 1925.
According to the 1850 census, Solomin was born in 1849, as he is
listed a a year old in 1850.
The place of birth is not clear. Hand written obituary states Post Lavaca, and Tom Cain states Jefferson Co.
On the 1850 Texas census the family was living in Gonzales Co, Solomin 1 year old.
On the information from Bob Weed, he states that Solomon drove peddler's wagon to supply settlers, also wild bronc rider and trainer of horses and mules.
Have copy of deed found in Gillespie County Courthouse 29 Mar 2001, where he purchased one acre of land in Willow City, 25 October 1886, copied by self 29 Mar 2001.

Eda CHADICK

information received from Bob P. Weed, Fort Worth Texas, in February
1995
Name also spelled CHADDOCK, Eda could neither read or write
according to census takers. However this has recently been disproved. A post card sent in 1913 from Eda to Claudia PHELPS, has been located. She actually had fairly good handwriting for that time, and her age, and she could definitely read and write.

Of French decent according to Bob P
Weed. My mother always said she was Commanche Indian.(Lorraine Darling note)

On 1870 census found living with the Wiliam and Susan Weed Hilliard family in Liberty Co, , p 6 P O Liberty, line 22. Her last name is spelled Shaddic, age 22, born in Louisiana. William is probably a relation to Eda,
Eda is not found on the 1850 census along with her father and mother, so must have been born after 1850.

The 1850 census is a mystery: Why is she not listed with Asa, Elizabeth, and family? I searched the 1850 census for Chaddick and variations, born in 1848 in Louisiana, and I found Etta CHADDOCK, living with parents, Isaac CHADDOCK, and Catherine, William and Rosanah. Isaac and others all disappear in 1860. I believe that Eda was this Etta, and that she was actually the daughter of Isaac and Charlotte, not Asa and Elizabeth Martin

79. Josie Henderson WEED

Information from Bob P Weed, Fort Worth, Texas, February 1995.

revised April 29, 2007

Jossie was listed on the 1880 census of Gillespie County, Texas, and it states that she was born in Arkansas. Now, this means one of three things:

1) She was their daughter, and Benjamin and Rebecca left Texas and moved to Arkansas for a time.
2) She was their daughter, but her place of birth is incorrect on the census.
3) She was there daughter by adoption, not by birth.

The youngest previously known child of Benjamin and Rebecca was Solomon Franklin WEED, born in 1849. There are no additional children named in 1860. This leaves a gap of 24 years. I think it is odd that a couple would not have a child for 23 years and then, boom, out of nowhere, a daughter. However, I also think it odd that a couple would go 23 years without having a child. The future census record of Rebecca doesn't help. In 1900 she (or someone else) stated for her, that she had only had two children, and that one was living. This is obviously in error. She had by birth atleast three children, Benjamin III(not necessarily named III, but used as a distinguisher), Susan, and Solomon, and appears to have had a fourth, with Josephine.

What really would be a blessing for working on this family would be a family bible, but who knows where that would be now, if one ever even existed.

To further add to the confusion, Jossie's marriage is listed as Josie HENDERSON, not WEED. IN the 1900 census of Bandera County, Texas, Rebecca is listed with Josssie and her husband, Lee CANADA. relationship given is Aunt, instead of Mother-in-law.

234. Mice BARROW

The name of this child is very dubious, however, the census definitely does say Mice, with out a doubt. It must have been a nickname. She also had to have died before 1900.

235. Gertrude BARROW

1900 census states that Elizabeth has had 5 children, 3 are living, which means that the first two children died before 1900. Gertrude was one of these.

Viney

not living in 1920

Elizabeth WHITE

previously married to a Mr SHELTON, had 7 children by him, and 2 by Alfred. In 1900 she says that she has had 9 children, 5 living. She died between 1910 and 1920.

249. Josephine BARROW

according to the 1930 census, Josephine married at 16, but she was not married to MR WALLCE in 1910, so this must have been her second marriage. First husband's name is unknown at this time She must have married her first husband in abt 1899, she is not on the 1900 census with her parents, but she is on the 1910 census with them which says that she is single.

87. Vincent BARROW

birth listed as Jul 1853 in 1900 census earlier census indicate born in 1857....
